Loki is the Asgardian god of mischief, but his rumored TV show is officially not a prank. A Loki television series starring Tom Hiddleston will premiere on Disney’s streaming service, which now has the title Disney+.
On Thursday, alongside news of a Cassian Andor series (basically a prequel to 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Disney announced an untitled live-action television series that follows the immensely popular Marvel villain Loki. Actor Tom Hiddleston, who first played the character in 2011’s Thor and recently “died” in Avengers: Infinity War, will reprise his film character for TV.
Little else is known about the series, which is especially interesting given that Loki was killed by Thanos in Infinity War. Is the new TV series a prequel (like the just-announced Cassian show), or will Loki return in Avengers 4? These are good questions Disney seems disinclined to answer, for now.
